Pickled Onions

Perfect compliment to almost all kinds of meat and cold cut.

Simple to make.

Only danger "Very easy to be adicted to"...



  • 4-5 medium size red onions
  • 1 cup vinegar 
  • 1 cup sugar 
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 Tsp salt
  • 10-12 black pepper corn
  • 1 star anis
  • 2-3 whole all spice
  • 1 bay leave


How to make:

In a pot boil the vinegar and the rest of the ingredients for 5 minuttes, just to let the taste of the spices blend.

Meanwhile slice the onions pretty thin, the easiest way is to use a mandolin. Sterilize a glass big enough to contain the onions.

Place the onion rings in the glass. Strain the marinate and poor the hot marinate over the onion. Close the glass while it's still hot.

It's best after resting 24 hours but will be better and better the longer you rest it.

It will last in the refrigerator for atleast 14 dage and most likely longer - but I never had one last for so long...
