Steak-Sandwich "Danish BoefSandwich"

Top notch burger

Boefsandwich is a traditional take on burgers. Directly translatet it means "steaksandwich". 

During the 80s and 90s it was a big hit in small hotdag stands and cafeterias. Now a days even some gourmet restaurants has taken this humble sandwich on their menu.

You will need the following for 1 boefsandwich:

1 large burgerbun

200 g ground beef
2 tbsp flour
salt & pepper
oil for frying

250 ml good beef stock
1 small onion
1 small tsp dijon mustard
1 tbsp tomato paste
a few dip worchestershire sauce
salt & pepper
(additional corn stark for thickening)

Pickled beetroot
Pickled cucumber
Remoulade (kind of a tatar sauce)
Fried onions
(Finely chopped red onion)

Start by form the pate a little thicker than you would do to a burger.
Give salt and pepper.
Dip the pate in flour and shake it well to get rit of excess flour.
Fry shortly in a hot pan with a little oil to get a good crust.
Take off the pate and keep it warm.

In the same pan fry the onion soft on medium heat, add the tomato paste and mustard.
Let i fry for a few minuttes then add the stock. Taste with worchestershire sauce, salt & pepper.

Place the pate back in the sauce an let it simmer for about 5 minuttes. Turn it over half way.
If the sauce is not thick enough, add half tsp of corn stark disolved in a tbsp of water. 

Toast the burger bun and when all is ready start sample the sandwich as shown on the picture.
