Orange Marmelade

In Denmark orange is one of the absolute favorite fruit during Holy season - No Christmas without orange. This tangy fruit can be used to make a delicious "x-mas marmalade". Try it on a bisquit or even better a slice of freshly homemade bread.

  • 600 g orange
  • 400 g sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 dl water

Zest the orange and finely chop.
Peel the orange, get as much "white" of as you can.
Divide them in smaller pieces and dump them in a sauce pan.
Add the water, sugar and vanilla pod, bring to a boil.
Let it simmer for half an hour or so until the orange i cooked.
Remove the vanilla pod and blend with a stick blender.
Continue to simmer until thickens.
Pour in sterilized glas and close tight while still Warm.
Cool down and enjoy.
