Cinnamon Rolls

Most of us loves these sweet and "Christmas-spicy" treat - Maybe not the most healthy option for an afternoon snack; but once in a while...

For the dough:

  • 600 g flour (1000 ml)
  • 200 g butter (soft)
  • 50 g sugar (50 ml)
  • 50 g yeast (2 Tsp dried yeast)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 dl milk
  • 1/2 tsk ground cardemom

For the remonce:

  • 150 g butter
  • 250 g brown sugar (4 dl)
  • 2 - 3 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoon simple cake-cream (see here)
  • Mix all welltogether

For the topping:

  • 4 dl icing sugar
  • 3 tablespoon water +/-
  • Mix well together tilla sticky clue.

The making:

Mix all the ingredients (except the butter) in a bowl.
Lastly add the soft butter and incorporate the butter without over mixing the dough, its okay if there is still small butter lumps when done.
Form the dough to a "ball" and roll it out as a square 60 x 60 cm approx.
Spread the remonce on the entire dough.
Now roll the dough to a "roulade"
Cut the "roulade" in 16 pieces and place on a baking treys.
Let the cinnamon rolls rest for 1 hour until double in size.
Bake in apreheated oven at 200C. for about 20 min untill golden.
Let them cool on a cooling rack, spread the topping and serve.
