Pears in Syrup

  • 1 kg pears
  • 5 dl of water
  • 400 g sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 4-5 cardamom capsules
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp calvados

Peel the pears, halve them and remove the core house and stalk with a teaspoon. Boil water, sugar, juice of a lemon, vanilla pod and cardamom capsules until the sugar is melted, add the pears and simmer for 5-10 minutes until they are tender. Place the pears in sterilized glasses.

Cut the lemon into half slices, add them to the syrup and let them boil for 5 minutes. Pour the syrup over the pears until the glasses are full and close immediately. Cool before serve.

 

PS: Put the peeled pears in water added lemon until cooked to avoid browning.
